February 21 is the big day! This is when Samsung will release the Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone. It will be on show at the MWC 2016, having been released the day before. Will it be any different from the S6 and the S6 Edge? Well, let’s chat about the rumours.
A prominent Samsung blogger, Eldar Murtazin, maintains that the S7 and its companion, the S7 Edge will have a better battery life than its predecessors. By how much? It is thought that it will have a life of 17 hours watching video but nearly 2 days on just regular phone and email usage.
In addition, Android optimizations and the use of more efficient CPUs and GPUs should further help reduce energy consumption of the Galaxy S7.
Under the Hood
It appears that the S7 will be using the Samsung Exynos 8890 processor instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon. Time will tell as to the efficacy of this choice. Many previous models of the S range, have used Qualcomm Snapdragon to good effect, but recent incarnations have moved to the Samsung processor.
What changes are made to screen resolution or some of the current software features found on the S6 range, only time will tell. But we can be sure that it will still wow users and build the Samsung image. Apart from that, the other stuff will be revealed on February 21. We wait with anticipation.
What will you do? Do you think that upgrading to the Galaxy S7 is on your personal shopping radar? Or will you wait for a few months until the systems are all bedding in and clear user feedback is available for all to see? Then let us know by leaving a comment below….
