Its predecessor might still be one of the hottest smartphones on the market, but the Samsung Galaxy S7 release date is already being tipped by that ever-faithful rumour mill.

With the Samsung Galaxy S6, and spin-off Galaxy S6 Edge having seen the Korean firm return to former smartphone glories, it has been suggested that the Galaxy S7 is being rushed to market in a bid to stave off competition from the recently released iPhone 6S – it might take more than a few pointers from the Apple handset though, if rumors are to be believed.

With a slimmer, sturdier body tipped to make an appearance, improved camera optics, a new, faster processor from Qualcomm and software enhancements are all already being mooted for the Samsung Galaxy S7’s features list. The handset could even add a 3D Touch-echoing pressure-sensitive display. Ahead of the eagerly awaited Samsung Galaxy S7 release date, here’s everything you need to know about the Galaxy S6 replacement.

  1. Hello there,
Even though I’ve never owned a Samsung phone yet I can appreciate that it’s a very nice phone.

It sounds like some pretty cool features coming out on the new models.

What is the difference between the s6 and s6 edge?
In your opinion would it be worth it to wait for the s7 version?

    Thank you.

    1. Hi Randy,

The S6 Edge has one major difference to the S6 – it has a curved screen. It is pretty cool since the curved part can be set up to see notifications of emails and suchlike. It is like having a small homepage without using the whole screen.

Should you wait for the S7? It all depends on what you are after. I am a big believer in using technology that is at least a few months old.It gives you time to research user reviews and then you can know for sure which model is right for you.

The new iris id feature that they are talking about for the S7 seems cool, but whether it is practicality you are after or the cool factor, Samsung has it all.

Thanks for calling by the website.

  2. So I am back here again and I know I just might have to get this phone. The Galaxy S7 is probably the iPhone killer. It is impressive I was reading some of the specs and I seen that it is USB type C compatible which is super fast I was on another site and they were talking about that. Another thing that was pretty cool was that it has an iris scanner I don’t know if I read that right but wow, what will technology come up with next.

    1. Hi Brandon,

Glad to have you back. Yes, iris technology. Looking into our eyes – is it for a security check or screen shutdown? My Note 3 has Smart Screen – it uses intelligent face and smart stay to keep the screen on. If it does not detect a face, the screen switches off. Pretty cool.

Keep an eye on my site for Galaxy bargains through Amazon.

  3. Greetings to you Funkydunc. I really enjoyed reading some of your articles tonight on the Samsung G7.

I am currently a LG Leon user, and have used this platform for about 2 years. While I enjoy the budgeted price plans that they offer, and the potential it has with Linux integration, I get tired of the viruses that the smart phone portion of the platform offers.

I also am looking for more in camera pixel quality and and base memory. I will continue to visit your site for insight and deals with Samsung Galaxy.

    1. Thank you very much for the positive contribution you have made to the discussion. Android is an excellent platform but Samsung have really developed the genre of technology well. Are you close to buying something new?

  4. Hello Funkydunc I have a CAT pillar phone – very convenient according my crazy trips I make- really count on it when I’m in the wild. But in normal life somehow do not fit. Lacks memory and etc. I decided to take a second phone much functional and I fluctuated between Iphone 6 and Samsung S6 Ege. What will be the main advantage if И choose Samsung?

    1. As you will note from the many reviews I have done, Samsung has a superior platform and interface. Some of the Samsung phones have expandable memory and world leading camera technology. The new Samsung Galaxy S7 has added low light capabilities and a water resistance rating that may work well with you in t\your field trips. These are some of the phones I would investigate:

      S&, Note 6, S6 Edge+ and in August the new Note 7.

      Hope that helps you,
